As a senior member of the engineering department, participate in the establishing departmental policy and creation of departmental procedures.

Major Position Responsibilities Responsible for full software lifecycle including preparation of software requirements, design/architecture, development plans, and software test procedures. Duties also include integration of software and hardware, writing and reviewing documentation, and presenting to management and customers.• Contribute to system architecture design decisions• Architect and design embedded real time software for servo motion control system or test software• Lead system integration and verification effort• Lead design review and peer code review activities• Present technical briefs to customers and senior management• Develop software engineering processes and documentation• Prepare budgets and schedules in support of software development projectsBasic Qualifications • Understand software development cycle, and able to carry a design task from concept to implementation• Develop test plan, including functional test, unit test etc.• Experience with modular code design to abstract hardware interfaces.• Perform static/dynamic code analysis and software FMEA• Skilled leadership of a team on software engineering tasks related to development, test, and documentation• Demonstrated understanding of personnel safety practices with high power, and with product protection policies• Experience with MIL-STD-498, CMMI Level 3, and other development processes a plus• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink a plus• Experience with LABVIEW and dSPACE a plus for developing test interfaces• Experience with 32-bit processors, ARM and TI processor experience a plus• BS Engineering or equivalent degree; 8 – 10 years experience• 5+ years’ experience in applicable software development and assembly for real time applications• 3+ years’ experience leading and mentoring engineers• 1+ years’ experience with embedded motion control applications desired
